Louisiana Medical Assistant Schools

Many medical assistant schools in Louisiana offer both certificate and degree programs in medical assisting. The certificate program takes approximately one year to complete while an associate degree takes about 2 years of coursework. Apart from the duration of the study, there are also some differences in terms of cost. An associate degree will definitely take more money to undertake.

Both candidates in the two programs may have the same facilities. For instance, they will both be examined by the same bodies and will take some internship to garner some experience in the field. However, despite the similarities, there are some key differences that you should consider before joining either.

For instance, someone with an associate degree has more prospects of advancing in a 4-year university as compared to the one with a certificate. Moreover, the former can handle more operations in the clinic or medical offices.
